Hemiplegia vs Hemiparesis: Causes, Symptoms, and TreatmentHow to remove hair and hair gumThe cutting gum has a number of benefits. they have linked the gum to weight loss, improved memory and reduced stress. But in the wrong circumstances, the rubber can be extremely sticky. Gum is made of synthetic rubbers and resins to create its mastic and sticky texture. If you pull the rubber, you may notice it stretches. There are chemical links between gum molecules that make it difficult to remove objects, especially hair. In addition, many commercial chewing gums are hydrophobic (which means they are not dissolved in water). They are more easily glued to oily surfaces than water bases. These chewing rubber properties make it difficult to remove rubber from your shoes, clothes and hair. Instead of resorting to scissors, try to use some of these domestic products to remove gum from your hair. Getting bubble gum in the hair can be messed up, especially for younger children. In many cases, scissors may seem the best solution—and only—. But there are some daily tools you can use to avoid cutting. Peanut butter Peanut butter is a thick, oily substance with hydrophobic properties. Using peanut butter on the rubber can reduce the sticky nature of the rubber, making it easier to remove your hair. Because both peanut butter and gum are hydrophobic, it's easier for them to stick with each other than stick to dry hair. To remove rubber with peanut butter, cover the affected area of the hair completely with creamy peanut butter. Work peanut butter through that hair with your fingers and then wait a few minutes for it to work. The gum must become more rigid and easily removable from your hair. Cooking oils are also hydrophobic. For example, if you combine oil and water in a jar, they are easily separated. Substances in your cooking oil decompose the sticky of your gum without causing damage to your hair. The oils that can work include: Apply the oil to the gum area, rubbing it gently. Use your fingers or a comb to remove the gum from your hair. Ice CubesIf the use of oil is too messy, you can use ice to freeze gum. Frost gum can reduce your sticker, allowing you to easily remove from your hair. Apply an ice pack in the gum for 5 to 15 minutes or until the gum hardens. You can also wrap your hair in a cloth with a few ice cubes for an additional boost. Although effective, this method is more effective if only a small amount of rubber is glued in the hair. The vinegar is also an effective remedy to eliminate the gum of your hair. It is a solvent that breaks down the bond between hair and gum. Leave behind a strong smell. To remove the rubber, saturate the area with vinegar. You can bathe your hair in a cup of vinegar or soak it with a cloth. The longer your hair is, the easier it is to remove the gum. For added boost, lightly heat the vinegar before applying it to your hair. This method can take time depending on how much gum is glued to your hair. When the gum starts to soften, it passes through your hair with a wide towel comb. Making rubber glued to your hair can be a nuisance. But this is a treatable nuisance. Consider using safe home products and remedies to remove rubber instead of using scissors. Last medical review on February 26, 2018
